Don’t Be the Next “Target”-- Learn the Basics of Workplace Cybersecurity
Duration: 90 minutes
Speaker: Jon Halpern and Kara Halpern
Webinar Description
You’ve seen the headlines. You know about the massive data breaches at Target, Sony Pictures, Anthem, JPMorgan Chase and many other companies. You also know what a data security breach can cost your business in terms of the expense of investigating and remedying the breach, the damage to your company’s reputation due to the public notoriety, and the millions of dollars in compensation that may be paid to your customers and clients.
You must understand that it is not whether your organization will come under a cyber-attack but rather when. The more prepared your organization is to detect and respond to an attack, the faster it can recover and reduce the damage to the business and its customers
Cybersecurity is no longer a function that is the sole responsibility of the IT department. Cybersecurity requires a continuous process that demands the attention of the entire organization from the Chief Executive Officer to the clerk in the mailroom.
This webinar by two noted cybersecurity experts will provide a basic introduction to cybersecurity in the workplace, improve your cyber awareness, and deepen your understanding of cyber risk. You will obtain an introduction to the legal requirements regarding data security imposed on public and private companies, government entities and contractors, and companies that are considered critical infrastructure under Department of Homeland Security rules. Jon and Kara Halpern will review some of the most effective cybersecurity practices for companies to implement in order to reduce the risk of a breach and comply with legal requirements. The webinar will also provide guidance regarding the correct response to a cyber-incident and how to plan for a situation where all reasonable security measures fail.
