Develop Winning Metrics for the HR Department
Duration: 90 minutes
Speakers: Teri Morning, MBA, MS, SPHR
The HR Department is involved in every aspect of a business, but it still struggles to demonstrate its value and accomplish its goals. The financial side of a business uses numbers to illustrate and solve problems and show its contributions and its successes. Metrics can help your HR Department do just that. Since numbers and metrics are the language of business, if you are not speaking that language, you can’t really be a strategic partner. It would be like going to France and speaking Greek. You’d eventually find your way around, but you might discover that the tour bus left without you, and you would end up missing a lot.
Using metrics will also help HR management transition from an operational mindset to a strategic mindset so it can focus its time and energy on areas that make a real difference to the Company’s bottom line. Using metrics encourages HR personnel to think strategically. Using strategic thinking will keep HR in step with business goals and position the Department to meet the challenges within your organization.
