An Essential Checklist for the Termination of Employees
Duration: 90 minutes
Speaker: Dr. Jim Castagnera, Esq.
Webinar Description
When we hire a new employee, usually it’s with the hope and expectation that he or she will become a part of our organization’s family for a long time to come. We have invested time and money in the recruitment and training processes. We have paid a competitive wage or salary, often in addition to a generous benefit package. When issues arose, we tried counseling, then perhaps progressive discipline… but it hasn’t worked out. So now it’s time to sever the employment relationship. We’d like to make it an amicable divorce if possible. We certainly don’t want to be sued.
Before your employee is sitting in front of your desk, about to be administered workplace “capital punishment,” you need to have all your ducks lined up. You need to be ready to touch all the right bases. You need to avoid all the legal landmines. Pick your favorite metaphor… but attend this webinar before that employee walks through your office door.
