Webinar Description

Proposed federal regulatory changes in classification of exempt or non-exempt workers are back! The Department of Labor has proposed an increase in the salary-level threshold for white-collar exemptions to $35,308 per year from its current $23,660 per year level. If finalized, the proposed rule would extend overtime protections to more than one million workers who are not currently eligible under federal law. Some of those newly covered workers could be yours.
Be prepared for the new salary level changes.  You must classify employees correctly in accordance with the salary basis, salary level, and duties tests related to classifying workers as being exempt executive, administrative, professional, computer, or outside sales employees.

Employers know that the FLSA governs the classification of their employees for purposes of paying overtime wages; however, many seminars, webinars, and conference breakout sessions explain what the FLSA rules are without describing how to implement them. This fast-paced, information-rich 90-minute webinar will not only advise you where the proposed salary level changes stand; but will also identify FLSA areas that are the subject of current DOL enforcement efforts and, more importantly, what employers can do to avoid violating the law and paying large amounts of back wages, liquidated damages, and attorneys’ fees.
