How to Successfully Hire Employees Using a Smart Interviewing Process
Duration: 90 minutes
Speaker: Deirdre Kamber Todd, Esq.
Webinar Description
Hiring the right person can be very difficult. Hiring is an expensive process, and it can take more than six months to recoup the investment in a new employee. Firing, however, is far more expensive. So, how do you invest smartly in hiring so that you can bring in better candidates and employees? You have to be able to accurately assess your candidate, and that starts with the interview. Yet most interviewers fail to ask the key questions, and sometimes no questions at all. Failing to interview properly is unacceptable for hiring in today’s market; having a standard practice for interviews becomes essential.
There is a pyramid of practices that, together, is called the BCMI Pyramid. It will help formulate your ideal interviewing process. By combining three traditional tools for interviewing: Behavioral Based Interviewing (or BBI), (2) Competency Based Interviewing (or CBI) and Motivational Interviewing (or MI), you can create the BCMI pyramid. The BCMI system is simple: the goal is to recognize the applicant’s accomplishments and competence to do the job and his or her motivation to succeed.
