What HR Has to Do When Employees Come Back to Work
Duration: 90 minutes
Speaker: Dr. Jim Castagnera, Esq.
Webinar Description
Though health experts tell us that while COVID-19 remains a serious concern, we are beginning to turn the corner. Employers are preparing for the challenges ahead and their employees are looking forward to a return to work. There is a good deal of uncertainty, however, concerning what the “new normal” will look like for businesses and employees.
HR will be at the forefront dealing with these employee-related uncertainties, many of which will pose significant and even new regulatory compliance challenges. For example, can an employer compel returning workers to be tested, how about periodically retesting employees, what about providing personal protective equipment, how to bring back furloughed workers and deal with changes in compensation, continuing social distancing policies, how do expanded family medical leave and paid sick leave fit in, different practices for younger and older employees, potential privacy violations as HR collects needed health information, and more.
The list goes on and on. The ADA, privacy laws, anti-discrimination requirements and any number of other federal and state laws and regulations are going to be tested in ways never before imagined. HR will be the lead in addressing these compliance questions and the answers they provide will determine the speed and success with which employers get back to business. Please join Dr. Jim Castagnera, Esq. as he sorts through the key employee-related issues you’ll be dealing with and offers practical guidance and solutions to these very difficult compliance questions.
