Webinar Description

Strong feelings and vigorous debate regarding politics are normal. Yet, some data scientists’ today claim political polarization is at its highest level since the Civil War! Other scientists claim that political polarization is a trend that is reflective of society and is here to stay even after the 2020 election.

Since political discord won’t fade away, employers need to know how to set boundaries on employee conduct. The employees who are the loudest with their opinions are the easiest with whom to deal. Other employees who are not as vocal can still feel just as strongly and might be damaging your workforce in ways that you may be unaware.

There are legal limits to how much an employer can inhibit political conversation. An employer can violate law and good management practices by being too heavy handed regarding restricting political discourse or by overly “protecting” their employees. Discussion of political issues can even turn into harassment complaints regarding protected classes. This webinar will teach employers how to allow legally protected speech and keep political differences from disrupting their workplace.
