Bruce E. Buchanan


Bruce E. Buchanan is an attorney at the Nashville, Tennessee Office of Siskind Susser, P.C.  He represents individuals and employers in all aspects of immigration law, with a special emphasis on immigration compliance and ICE inspections, as well as employment/labor law.


Mr. Buchanan received his law degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Florida State University, where he graduated magna cum laude.  Mr. Buchanan served as senior trial specialist for the National Labor Relations Board for 20 years.  He also served from 1991 to 2003 as Adjunct Professor at William H. Bowen UALR School of Law, where he taught courses in Labor Law, Employment Law, and Sports Law.  Mr. Buchanan has been in private practice since 2003.


Mr. Buchanan is past-chair of the Tennessee Bar Association's Immigration Law Section as well as the editor of TBA's Labor and Employment Law Section Newsletter and the TBA's Immigration Law Section Newsletter.  Mr. Buchanan writes a blog on employer immigration compliance located at He is also a guest blogger on similar issues for LawLogix, located at


He is a frequent speaker at seminars on a variety of topics, including Immigration Compliance, Immigration Law, the National Labor Relations Act, FMLA, and Fair Labor Standards Act.  He has authored numerous articles in magazines and on-line publications in the areas of immigration law, NLRB decisions, and pending federal legislation.
