Sarah K. Ivy

 

Sarah Ivy, Of Counsel at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLP, focuses her practice primarily in the areas of ERISA, employee benefits, and executive compensation.  Specifically, Sarah has extensive experience analyzing the rules and regulations under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the "Code") and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended ("ERISA") as well as applying the requirements of the Code and ERISA to all forms of benefits plans including, but not limited to, qualified retirement and welfare benefits plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and equity-based compensation plans.

 

Sarah represents a broad range of clients and provides guidance on matters involving employee benefits plans sponsored by for-profit companies, governmental and tax-exempt entities (e.g. 403(b) and 457 plans).  Sarah has significant experience with the deferred compensation requirements of Code Section 409A and working with closely held businesses in using ESOPs as a business succession planning tool.  In addition, Sarah advises clients with respect to employee benefit issues involved in merger and acquisition transactions.  Sarah is a frequent speaker on and advises employers on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and works with clients to plan for and ensure compliance with PPACA.
