Employer-Sponsored Wellness Programs - How to Comply with Final Regulations Under the Affordable Care Act
Duration: 90 minutes
Speaker: Sarah Ivy
Webinar Description
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Department of Labor (DOL) and the Treasury Department issued final regulations regarding wellness programs under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ("ACA") in 2013. The ACA prohibits discrimination based on the health of plan participants in eligibility, benefits or premiums. The law provides an exception for wellness programs, allowing employers to offer cash rewards and premium discounts or rebates in return for employees' adherence to health promotion and disease prevention programs. If your company already offers a wellness program or intends to do so, you need to know how to comply with the federal rules.
