Creating an Inclusive Workplace - Critical Diversity and Inclusion Programs
Duration: 90 minutes
Speaker: Teri Morning
Webinar Description
The workplace has always been a front line for societal change. Today’s employees have a heightened awareness and dislike intolerance regarding diversity. They expect to be able to bring their authentic self to work, speak up promptly and expect their companies to take action when their workplace is not respectful of diversity.
Data show it is good for business when a company employs different people who think differently. However, proactive diversity efforts are often shelved in response to meeting urgent requirements for handling operational issues. When issues occur, the response is reactive.
A successful diversity program is not something you implement with a few hours of training. Diversity programs, just like any other workplace program, go through stages, not accomplished through a training class. Change does not happen overnight, especially if there are long-standing issues and simmering resentments. Otherwise, even sincere efforts can become just another policy with no meaning.
