Webinar Description

Ever since the “new normal” of employees working from home arose in 2020, employer surveillance of employees has grown more than fifty percent. While some of these efforts are both legal and effective, far more of these options are counterproductive and/or illegal. This program will cull through the various options for employee surveillance, the legal concerns, the countermeasures available to employees to avoid surveillance, and other key considerations.

In this program, we will discuss surveillance and privacy as relating to:

  1. Emails
  2. Computer usage
  3. Audio recording
  4. Video recording
  5. Microsoft Teams
  6. Use of phone headsets
  7. Instant messaging
  8. Cell phones
  9. Biometric systems for recording worktime

We will also examine issues relating to:

  1. Legal restrictions
  2. Employees spying on each other
  3. Deleted and cleared voice and e-mail messages
  4. Personal email review through work computers
  5. Review of postal deliveries
  6. Anti-spying software and hardware

Finally, we will discuss best practices to ensure your monitoring efforts are legal, effective and secure.
