Webinar Description

Human Resources, payroll, safety, and auditing professionals are often unsure about what employment records are required to be retained and for how long. This is vital information that could avoid legal liability. However, this is only part of the puzzle.  Equally, perhaps even more important, is avoiding bad practices, and the troublesome, even illegal, recordkeeping-related errors which are often undetected.

HR is often unaware of major recordkeeping violations of law and the employer’s potential liability, which do not become apparent until there is an audit or a Federal lawsuit is brought against the employer.  You should know the much broader scope of “records liability” and how to best comply with the rules, and avoid all too common, but needless, violations and attendant liability.

Employment lawyer Robert Gregg will provide critical information not just on what HR records your business should keep and for how long but also on the more important issues of what records are needed and what record retention practices can result in exposure to legal liability to employees and ex-employees.
