The New Tangle of Employee Leave Laws: ARPA and the COVID-19 Laws
Duration: 90 minutes
Speaker: Deirdre Kamber Todd
Webinar Description
With many laws enacted in response to COVID-19, it is extraordinarily difficult to assess each scenario when employee leave is required. From employer mandated quarantines to employee vacation travel, to caretaking for others, to fear of COVID, to conflicting CDC guidelines, these ad hoc laws and recommendations have made employer leave policies nearly impossible to follow consistently.
This program will unravel the web of COVID laws, as relating to employees, and will provide a toolbox for analyzing a broad range of scenarios for employee absence. This program will explore the laws themselves, case studies, and a series of scenarios designed to clarify how each type of absence can and should be treated to avoid litigation by disgruntled employees.
