Webinar Description
America has never seen a confluence of workforce phenomena quite like the first quarter of 2022. The Great Resignation resulted in worker shortages all across the economy. This in turn resulted in accelerating wage demands, which contributed to inflation. By the end of March, only six million workers were unemployed, while employers had 11million openings. Meanwhile, successful union-organizing efforts at Starbucks and Amazon were only the well-publicized tip of a unionization surge.
Pre-pandemic, employees, when asked, consistently indicated a growing interest in flexible work schedules. During the two pandemic years, millions were given a teste of teleworking from their homes. A 2022 version of an old standard tune might ask, “How you gonna’ keep ‘em coming to work, after they’ve seen home-based employment?”
Meanwhile, many employers, including major IT companies, have concluded that valuable synergies are sacrificed, when employees all work from home all the time. The “Goldilocks” solution is to find the happy medium between coming in to work and working from home.
A thoughtfully designed, well-managed hybrid work schedule enables your teams to work wherever they are: in the office, at home and on the move. This in turn presents an unprecedented opportunity to increase the efficiency and productivity of almost every employee.
At the same time, a hybrid schedule poses a number of logistical and legal challenges.
Please join HR-law expert, Dr. Jim Castagnera, Esq., for a 90-minute exploration of the new normal of hybrid work.
